Silk was born Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The daughter of Peter, an academic, and Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actor and director. She was also a playwright, educator, and director of drama in St. Thomas University. One of Anna's first memories were of going to play rehearsals and watching her mother perform. Silk was a small girl in numerous commercials. She completed a Bachelors of Arts in the field of theater at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas staged at least two early plays: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto to further her acting profession in November 1999. She then, over the following decade relocated in the following decade to Los Angeles, California. She met her soon-to-be husband, Seth Cooperman, at an acting training located in Los Angeles, in 2007. After getting engaged in 2008, they tied the knot in 2009. In Fredericton the 10th of April in 2011, after her decision to convert to Judaism the couple renewed their vows at an Jewish wedding ceremony.
